Sustainable business after the Omnibus and how the VSME builds trust

  • Reporting
  • VSME

The European sustainability obligations (CSRD, CSDDD and ESRS) are on the brink of simplification through the Omnibus regulation. Less detail, reduced administrative burden, but does that also mean less relevance? Absolutely not. The societal and economic reality remains unchanged: banks, customers, employees and shareholders continue to expect ESG transparency as a condition for trust, financing and collaboration.

It is precisely in this shifting landscape that the VSME – the Voluntary Sustainability Reporting Standard for SMEs – becomes an indispensable tool. Not as an added burden, but as a smart framework to report relevant ESG information, build trust, and create value.

In this presentation, you will gain:

  • A forward-looking view on the expected evolution of the CSRD, CSDDD, ESRS, standards and Taxonomy.

  • A practical framework to report sustainability information efficiently and credibly using the VSME

  • Insight into Kube* and its role in mandatory ESG reporting within banking processes

  • A strategy not only to comply with regulations, but to build trust with all your stakeholders

  • Sustainability reporting may become simpler on paper, but in practice it is increasingly digital and unavoidable.

* Kube is a Belgian digital platform developed by Isabel (with support from Febelfin and the major banks). It enables companies to input and share KYC (Know Your Customer) and ESG data once, in a standardised and secure way, with banks and other stakeholders.
